Dog and Bone to close after 21 years

A business duo will be closing the doors of their pet shop after 21 years next month.

Linda Roads and Val Bateman are hoping to catch up with all of their loyal customers before shutting down Dog and Bone in Lower Kings Road, Berkhamsted.

The pair have decided to shut on Friday. November 23 because the lease on the building will soon expire.

Linda said: “I would like everyone to pop in and see us before we go.

“We do want to thank all our customers for their support over the years.”

The 58-year-old will be continuing the dog grooming arm of the business from her Northchurch home, while Val, 64, will be taking what she calls a ‘senior gap year’.
