‘Disappointing’ turn out at country show
MCHG 12-835 Game and Country Fayre at Redbourn. Kayleigh Andrews four, and brother Calum three, with dad Sonny, meet Crackers the ferret.
The organisers behind a country show say they were disappointed by the numbers that turned out for the annual event.
Herts Showground in Redbourn played host to the Game and Country Show on Saturday and Sunday.
It was the last event, which showcases country sports, of a series of shows that have been held around the UK in recent months.
Mark Hulme, from organisers Living Heritage, said: “We were a little bit disappointed with it. Given the weather conditions we had, we thought we would have done better than we did.
“We have done exceedingly well at other venues that we have been at over the last four to six weeks.”
This is the third year that the event has been held at Redbourn but now organisers are undecided about whether to return in 2013.
