A police community support officer has warned that his force will be stepping up patrols of Berkhamsted’s parks to prevent anti-social behaviour as the weather improves.

James McLean was reporting to Berkhamsted Town Council, which has previously complained of sex and drug use in the town’s Lagley Meadow play area. The area is also home to an astroturf pitch used legitimately by many young people.

Mr McLean said: “This area is very heavily patrolled by the whole team and I have a good relationship with many of the users.”
