A LONE schoolgirl bravely fought off the man who grabbed her by thwacking him with her lacrosse stick.
The sporty 13-year-old was returning from a session on the Berkhamsted School playing fields off Chesham Road after staying late to help teachers pack away equipment.
As she crossed Butts Meadow towards Berkhamsted School Kings Campus at 4.30pm last Wednesday, a 57-year-old grabbed her clothes and would not let go.
The middle-aged man, from Berkhamsted has now been arrested for common assault and bailed until April 21 pending further police enquiries.
The confrontation follows an incident in which a white man in his 20s with black, spiky hair exposed himself to a girl outside Ashlyns School in Chesham Road on Thursday, March 24.
She had been on a wooded path and the man asked her for the time before the incident.
The 20-something flasher is still on the loose.
These are the latest in a string of worrying crimes in the town – The Gazette reported last week that Berkhamsted police had busted a Charles Street brothel in a raid.
