‘Speeding drivers terrify village schoolchildren’

SPEEDING cars are blighting the lives of villagers living in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

That is what the leaders of Little Gaddesden Parish Council claimed during their annual general meeting, attended by about 50 people.

They want the speed limit through the village to be reduced.

It currently goes from 60mph to 40mph, then 30mph, back to 40mph and then back to 30mph along Nettleden Road, which passes through the village.

Parish council chairman Douglas Adams said: “Why not have a uniform limit running through the village? This is a village, a rural community, and we would like to keep it as a special place.”
