A MAN who was part-blinded in a unprovoked pub attack has told the Gazette of his struggle to regain a normal life.

Paul Blackhouse, 22, of Cooper Way, Berkhamsted, lost the sight in his right eye while trying to defend his brother.

A man had attacked his 29-year-old brother from behind with a glass as the pair were at the bar of The George in the town centre.

As Paul turned a piece of stray glass cut through his eye. He said: “I thought the glass had just hit my eyelid and the eyelid had gone over my eye – which is why I could not see.

“But then I went in the toilet and saw my eyelid was not cut and there was lots of blood down my face and T-shirt.”
