Homes and cars targets of theft and vandalism

BURGLARS took advantage of insecure doors and windows at a trio of homes at the weekend.

They forced UPVC doors at Covert Road, Northchurch, and Orchard Avenue, Berkhamsted, between Saturday and Sunday.

They stole jewellery from both and a large TV and a laptop from the latter.

On Friday night, burglars reached through an insecure window and unlocked an outhouse at Montague Road, Berkhamsted and stole keys.

Police are also investigating several cars last Wednesday (January 12) and suspect a device could be used to detect items like laptops and Ipods.

They were stolen from cars at Mortimer Hill, Tring and the nearby Sportspace.

At least two cars at the car park of Knox Johnson sports area at Berkhamsted Collegiate School.
