AN Aging tractor will be put out to grass thanks to a county councillor.

Northchurch Cricket Club will soon be able to buy newer model after a £1,500 grant from Bridgewater Councillor David Lloyd helped boost funds.

He said: “Northchurch Cricket Club is a thriving club. Their 50-year-old tractor is becoming very expensive as any spare parts have to be specially made.

“Although the tractor is primarily used to cut the sports ground, it is also used for grass cutting throughout Northchurch.

“The club raised £6,000. I am happy to help towards the total of £10,000.”

Mr Lloyd granted the money from his locality budget. Herts County Council gives councillors £10,000 each to spend on worthy community projects.
