A Christmas concert featuring festive songs and performances has raised a cracking £2,500 for a Hemel Hempstead-based children’s charity.
More than 100 people took part in Hope For Children’s event at St John’s Church in Boxmoor, including homegrown talents Light Touch, Joseph Beadle, Dacorum Music School recorder group, Joyful Noise and the Lime Walk School choir.
The money raised will be used to help children and their families in Dacorum and the rest of the UK who have fallen through the gaps of larger support organisations.
Hope events and volunteer manager Rachel Simkin said: “The evening was enjoyed by so many as everyone left with a smile on their face – this is the real reason why such events continue to be so important to our locally-founded charity.”
The charity’s chief executive Simon Jackman added: “This is a staggering sum to be made from our Christmas concert, and it’s a testament to the local community who have continued to support our work since we were founded in 1994.”
