Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper visited Herts to back Labour candidate Sherma Batson in the race to become the county’s first police and crime commissioner.

Voting takes place on Thursday, November 15, to decide who will have the job of holding the force to account and appointing the chief constable.

David Lloyd is standing for the Conservatives, Chris Townsend for the Liberal Democrats and Marion Mason for UKIP.
