Communtiy group backs campaign

One of the biggest fundraising groups in Berkhamsted has pledged its support to the BerkoAstro campaign.

The Petertide Fair committee has announced it is to back the fundraising drive meaning more than 5,000 could be raised for the project.

Each year the committee picks two charities to support- one from the community and the other abroad.

Head boy at Ashlyns, Sam Limbert, who is also a member of St Peter's Church, gave a presentation to the Parochial Church Council to get the green light to support the project.

The abroad charity Petertide will support is the Indian cancer hospice- Karunashraya.

Over the next year the group will hold jazz evenings, concerts and its famous Petertide Fair in June to raise money for the causes.

Last year more than 10,000.
