The father from Hemel Hempstead charged with the murder of his four-year-old daughter in Hatfield is due to appear before St Albans Crown Court tomorrow.
Former Cavendish School pupil Carl Wheatley, who was looking after young Alexa-Marie after reportedly winning a custody battle, stood before Hatfield Remand Court on Friday charged with her murder at their home in Queen Bee Court.
He was remanded into custody until tomorrow when he will face court again.
The 30 year old attended the Warners End Road school during his time in Hemel Hempstead, according to details on a social networking site, where he also lists the area as his hometown.
Police say investigations are still ongoing.
Alexa-Marie, who was known as Lexie, died at Lister hospital after police had been called out over concerns for her welfare at 9.36am on Wednesday.
A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of her death is due to take place today (Monday).
A statement from Alexa-Marie’s mother’s side of the family said: “We are completely stunned and devastated that our beautiful little girl has been taken from us so suddenly.
“She was truly the most gentle, loving, happy and amazing little soul we had the pleasure of knowing. We would be asked to be left alone to grieve at this traumatic time.”
