Cries for help from a damsel in distress were answered by members of the Habour Lights Scuba Diving Club.
The Hemel Hempstead team took part in the Swanage RNLI Raft Race on Saturday and won.
Their victory - led by Mick Conwell - meant they took home £100 and raised more than £600 for lifeboat charity RNLI.
During last year’s event they came fifth but improvements to their makeshift raft - the addition of two traffic cones - and practice in the pool at Hemel Hempstead’s Sportspace helped to put them ahead of the competition.
The team was also presented with the winning shield.
Harbour Lights Scuba Diving Club meets on Thursday evenings at Sportspace and runs clubs for 13 to 19 year olds and adults. Call 07748 176906.
