Museum’s car parking headache set to be solved this summer

Work on a new overspill car park for Tring’s Natural History Museum could be finished in time for early summer.

Building work began in December last year for the extra parking space on Hastoe Lane – just yards away from the museum site on Akeman Street – but the recent heavy rainfall has caused setbacks.

It’s hoped the site, which will be able to hold 50 cars, 12 bicycles and two coaches, will ease congestion in the museum’s current car park and the roads surrounding it.

The project is thanks to a partnership between the museum and the Woodland Trust, which received funding to help encourage more visitors to the museum and nearby Tring Park.
