A Hemel Hempstead man has been charged with a string of driving offences after a police pursuit ended in a crash.
Darren Edwards, 22, of Livingstone Walk, Hemel Hempstead, will face court after he allegedly failed to stop for police in Washington Avenue. Officers suspected the driver may have been drinking and indicated for him to pull over shortly before 2am on Saturday morning.
The man continued to drive the Nissan Micra – carrying two passengers – towards Hemel Hempstead’s industrial estate before it careered into the roundabout linking Swallowdale Lane with Maylands Avenue.
Mr Edwards was arrested and taken to hospital for minor injuries, before being charged with driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police when required, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and having no insurance.
He has been released on bail and is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on November 12.
