Lib Dem spotlight on county street light saga

Have your say

The leader of the opposition at Herts County Council has hit out at contractors responsible for a street lighting fault which has plunged some areas into unexpected darkness.

A problem with the part-night streetlight timing devices – supplied by Amey Lafarge on behalf of the county – has meant lights in some parts of Herts have failed to turn on even before the usual switch-off time of midnight.

The issue, which only applies to streetlights operating on the part-night timing schedule, started last week and could continue until a week after the clocks go forward this Sunday.
