A SUMMER ball marked the end of the Rotary year for a town club.
The Rotary Club of Berkhamsted Bulbourne raised £40,000 for charities including the Pepper Foundation, The Hospice of St Francis and Dacorum Community Trust in its year to July 1.
The club got seven new members in the year, bringing its total to a record 60.
At its end-of-year ball in Berkhamsted Golf Club on Saturday, June 25, founder member Charlie Toner was given a Paul Harris Fellowship - the highest award in Rotary.
Club spokesman Geoff Budd said: “The award reflects Charlie’s long, loyal and unselfish contribution to Rotary and to the community.”
