CHARITY stalwart Nicky Evans is busy washing, ironing and packing in preparation for the latest of her famous children’s wear sales.
On Friday, March 23, she will hold her 36th sale in aid of good cause Oxfam.
The retired grandmother launched the charity sale – held twice a year – in 1993 and it has been growing ever since. It is a chance for mums and dads to bag children’s clothes at bargain prices.
There will be spring and summer clothes for children aged up to 16 years old on offer from 9am to 11.30am at Berkhamsted Civic Centre on Friday, March 23.
“It is all pretty dresses, shorts, T-shirts and swimming costumes – everything a child might need for summer,” said Nicky, who has been volunteering with the charity for 20 years and recently received a certificate congratulating and thanking her for her hard work.
There will also be a toy section for goods that are too big to display in the town’s High Street charity shop, from bicycles to toy garages.
