The boss of a good cause that helps old folk has resigned following an internal investigation.

Age UK Dacorum’s chief executive Aftia Ali-Khan has now departed from the charity, based in Hemel Hempstead’s Half Moon Yard.

Chairman of the Dacorum branch Mike Moore said: “It has been mutually agreed that Atifa will pursue other opportunities so she has formally left the organisation.

“We have reached an amicable settlement.”

He had previously told the Gazette that there were questions that needed to be answered but stressed that it was an internal matter.

A statement released by the good cause, which provides social opportunities, a handyman scheme and other help, said: “After four years at Age UK Dacourm, Atifa Ali-Khan has decided to pursue opportunities outside the organisation. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution to the organisation and wish her well for the future.”
