Charities on the look-out for love
Speed dating volunteers and charities will be hunting for their perfect matches next Thursday.
In a bid to pair up potential volunteers from Berkhamsted and Tring with charities, a Volunteer Speed Matching event has been organised for the Court Theatre, Tring.
Hour-long slots will be held at 12:30pm, 3pm and 5.30pm.
The idea is daters are given score sheets, and spend four minutes at each charity table before the whistle sounds and they move on.
The event organisers, Volunteer Centre Dacorum, are particularly keen to encourage people from Berkhamsted and Tring to take part.
This is the fifth year the volunteer centre is running the event and it will include the likes of the Hospice of St Francis, Dacorum Heritage Trust, Citizen's Advice Bureau and Rent Aid.
Free teas and coffees will be on offer for volunteer daters and they will get to learn all about what goes on in the community.
If people take a liking to a particular, they can arrange a second date– there will be no pressure to sign up for a voluntary task on the day.
Volunteer centre first started holding speed matching events in 2005.
