Candidates announced for by-election

NOMINATIONS for by-elections to replace arrested former councillor Stephen Holmes have been announced.

Those standing for the Dacorum Borough Council seat in Woodhall Farm are Liberal Democrat Dave Nitesh, Paul De Hoest from the Green Party, Labour’s Paul Eastwood, Simon Deacon for the English Democrats, Conservative Rosie Sutton and Howard Koch for the UK Independent Party.

Running for the Herts County Council seat representing Hemel Hempstead Town are Lib Dem Chris Angell, Labour’s Mike Bromberg, Paul Harris from the Green Party, Howard Koch for the UK Independence Party, Conservative William Wyatt-Lowe and Rodney Tucker who is standing as an independent.

The elections will be held on Thursday, June 21.

Well-known Mr Holmes, a former Dacorum mayor, stepped down from his council posts the day after his Woodhall Farm home was raided by police. He was arrested by officers on suspicion of possession of indecent images of children.
