EMPLOYERS showed their support for a scheme to boost the skills and experience of young jobseekers at a breakfast event.
As part of the Government’s Get Britain Working campaign, an event was organised by Jobcentre Plus and local recruitment firm Bourne Leisure.
A range of employers turned out for the event, which aimed to help employers find out more about the benefits of providing work experience, internships and apprenticeships to young jobseekers.
Teresa Chammings of Hertfordshire Jobcentre Plus said: “Work experience lets young people showcase their talents and gives them the skills, experience and confidence they need to get into work.
“We have received tremendous support from local employers and we’re now helping young jobseekers across Hertfordshire take up these exciting work experience opportunities.”
Young people looking for work can take work placements lasting up to eight weeks without their benefits being affected.
Jobseekers are being invited to pop along to their local Jobcentre Plus to speak to an adviser about finding opportunities in the area.
