A toy shop in Hemel Hempstead town centre has shut and a lingerie store faces closure because of tough trading conditions.

Hawkin’s Bazaar has gone into administration while La Senza is slated for closure as part of efforts to ‘safeguard the future of the business’.

Hawkin’s Bazaar has blamed ‘today’s exceptionally challenging retail environment’ for the move.

La Senza says it is working with accountancy firm KPMG to ‘commence a programme of store closures to enable resources to be focused on the best performing stores’.
