VOLUNTEER tour guides have been awarded badges for five years of helping out at a National Trust site.
History enthusiast John Waller, 67, of Cobb Road, Berkhamsted, has actually worked as a guide at Boarstall Tower in Bucks for eight years.
He’s pictured above (far right) with fellow badge-winning volunteers at the site.
John said: “Boarstall has an incredibly interesting history, with some wonderful stories from the past, including sieges during the Civil War, a poisoning and visits by Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier.”
Boarstall Tower, built in 1312, will be open from 2pm to 5pm every Wednesday from May 4. To learn more, visit www.boarstall.com.
