THE hunt is on to find a buyer who can help save a town hotel.
It’s got 20 rooms, employs 11 staff and is expected to sell for £1.95million.
The Pennyfarthing Hotel, which dates back to the 16th century, sits between Berkhamsted High Street and the scenic Grand Union Canal.
Property specialists from Colliers International, who have been appointed to sell it, say they’ve already had a lot of interest from potential buyers.
That’s before even putting it on the market, said firm director James Innes.
He added: “Prospective owners have a great opportunity to build on a Pennyfarthing’s strong repeat business through improved marketing.”
The hotel is now under the control of administrators Begbies Traynor LLP.
It is behind eatery Cafe Rouge, the freehold of which is also up for sale.
