A FREE conference will be held in Hemel Hempstead in September to tell local businesses to be prepared to deal with extremists and terrorists.

Dacorum Business Against Crime (DBAC) is organising the conference at South Hill Centre, in Cemetery Hill, on Friday, September 30.

The Business Counter Terrorism and Extremism Conference is free for attendees and will include speakers from the police, fire service and local authority.

The keynote speaker has been announced as transport minister Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning.

Organisers hope it will enable businesses and the statutory agencies to work more closely together to make sure firms have considered terrorism and extremism in their business continuity planning. This could include knowing what to do if protesters camp inside shops.
