Two new advisers have been added to the strength of the county’s biggest business membership group in the wake of a ‘mood swing’ in the local economy

The Herts branch of the Federation of Small Businesses has witnessed a sea change in economic confidence in the last six months and is now taking its message to a more receptive audience.

Trevor Pugsley will be recruiting in Hertfordshire east of the M1 while Quintin Juckes will cover west of the M1, including Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring, as well as across the border in the Luton and Dunstable area.

The two men will eventually take over from award-winning Maree Atkinson, who has recruited more than 5,000 new members in 10 years to help make the Herts FSB one of the largest branches in the UK.

County chairman Pam Charman said: “By stepping up our membership recruitment we are able to take our very attractive member packages out to more businesses.”

Maree is taking on a new role which will see her coaching new people, supporting awards, and backing FSB initiatives. She said: “Trevor and Quintin are great assets with their in-depth knowledge of business. With the economy on the up and companies looking to take on staff, they will be able to describe how the FSB can provide vital support.”
