A TRING-based pub and restaurant chain is bucking the closure trend with the opening of its sixth venue.

Oakman Inns and Restaurants, of Akeman Street, has invested £3million in refurbishing its sixth venture, the Blue Boar, in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Oakman Inns, owned by entrepreneur Peter Borg-Neal, pictured, owns the Kings Arms in High Street, Berkhamsted.

The company also has a beady eye out for opportunities in other market towns with historic coaching inns. Group turnover is anticipated to grow to £9m in 2012 from £5 million last year.
