A bowel cancer patient from Hemel Hempstead has beaten the odds to take part in a 280 mile cycle ride in aid of the hospital which treated him.
Paul Bouscarle, who recently underwent surgery at St Mark’s in North London, said: “St. Mark’s Hospital Foundation is committed to creating a world free of the fear of bowel disease, a cause close to my heart since I was diagnosed in January 2013. I am convinced that supporting St. Mark’s is the best way to improve the treatment of all kinds of bowel disease.”
The gruelling challenge, which finished on Saturday, followed the shape of the human colon, beginning at Pimlico in Herts and ending at Arsenal stadium via Northampton and Peterborough.
The Colon Challenge has already raised more than £22,000 for St. Mark’s Hospital Foundation.
