Borough holds payments over bin calendar bungle

BIN calendar distributors rushed to repeat their entire borough-wide delivery after people were missed out.

Now Dacorum Borough Council refuses to pay the contractors, which charge £4,148 per round, until an investigation into the Easter bank holiday handout is complete.

Angry residents phoned the council, confused about collections, because they had not received the new calendar – which swapped the days green and black bins were collected.

The council claims there was no time to work out which roads had been missed and sent distributors to post leaflets throughout the whole of Dacorum.
