Bollards will stop lorries from clogging up trust’s Box Lane car park for Sheethanger Common

Cash has been given to the Box Moor Trust for car park improvements that will stop commercial vehicles from clogging up spaces.

Councillor Richard Roberts gave £600 from his locality budget to works to install bollards at Hemel Hempstead’s Box Lane car park for Sheethanger Common.

He said: “Large commercial vehicles were causing a nuisance by staying overnight and with a little budget and the goodwill and work of the Box Moor Trust, the problem is now resolved. The Trust is a big part of Dacorum and it is a pleasure to support them and local residents.”

The works mean spaces will be available for people visiting the common and former golf course, which is well known for its chalk downland plants and associated wildlife.

Each county councillor is allocated £10,000 to spend on worthwhile community projects. Find out more by clicking here
