Parts of Hemel Hempstead are set to undergo a blooming great makeover as Dacorum Borough Council works to introduce wild flowers to the town.
The flowers will be planted on the Marchmont Arms and Grovehill roundabouts on Link Road, as well as along Breakspear Way, but will be cut short and will only become visible in 2014.
One planned bloom is the red campion, which attracts bumblebees and butterflies.
Councillor Julie Laws said: “Planting these flowers is just one way we are working to protect the local environment. With species under threat, we will step up our work to promote biodiversity within the borough.”
