A biker in his 20s has been taken to a London hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Hemel Hempstead this morning.

The driver of a blue Yamaha motorcyle was involved in the collision with a white Vauxhall combo van during rush hour on the A414 St Albans Road.

Police and two ambulance crews were called to the scene around 8.15am and put road closures in place between the dual carriageway’s junctions with Longlands and Bennetts End Road.

Officers remain on the scene, where recovery of the vehicles is currently taking place.

The injured man was treated by paramedics and taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington – where there is a major trauma centre – with a suspected leg fracture.

This story will be updated as more information is received from emergency services.
