A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
The British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical shop needs big and strong volunteers to help out in its warehouse in Hemel Hempstead town centre.
The Marlowes shop is part of a network that raises funds for the charity’s lifesaving work which includes funding ground-breaking research, providing emergency life support training, or paying for a specialist cardiac nurse to run a helpline for patients and their families.
Warehouse assistants help with tasks including loading and unloading deliveries, moving stock around the store, testing electrical items, making up flat-pack furniture and keeping the warehouse clean and tidy.
You should be a good team player and fit enough to lift heavy items.
Times are flexible to suit the volunteer.
The shop also needs volunteer sales assistants with superb customer service skills.
You would be helping customers both face to face and on the telephone as well as booking collections and deliveries. The shop is open seven days a week. Full training is provided and out of pocket expenses offered.
Volunteers are needed by the Citizens Advice Bureau in Hemel Hempstead to help out on reception and behind the scenes at the offices on Hillfield Road.
Happy and friendly volunteers are needed to help out on reception and with admin tasks.
Sensitivity and respect for clients are a must as are good IT skills and willingness to get stuck in and help support our team of advisers.

If you have good research and communication skills and can offer at least six hours per week for a minimum of six months, this could be the role for you.
