A LAWYER who used to be a rug weaver has staged an art exhibition at a town centre venue.

David Goodman staged a display of paintings at Berkhamsted Town Hall in the town’s High Street.

It featured new oils on canvas as well as 12 hand-woven rugs and walnut tables.

Mr Goodman said: “I had about 70 paintings in it, and the exhibition was a great success.”

He said about 250 people came to the exhibition during its launch night from about 6pm on Friday, May 18.

Above, he sits on the table he made out of wood from Dutch Elm trees before they were struck by Dutch Elm disease more than 30 years ago.

In our other photo, he sits in front of another of the pieces in his exhibition, called Blue World – which was also the name of the exhibition.

He refused to say whether either of the pieces were sold during the exhibition.
