Work to resurface part of Hemel Hempstead’s Link Road last week was left looking less than professional after bad weather botched the job.
The work was done on Tuesday, July 30, as part of a programme of surface dressing works for the road, and skid risk warning signs had been erected while the surface was still loose.
But arrows painted on the new surface shortly afterwards looked smudged and wobbly.
Herts County Council spokesman Gemma McKelvey said: “The contractor has looked and seen that there are issues. The problem was due to rain making it hard to finish at the time – this may have caused it to not look as professional when it was first done.”
Highways contractor Ringway, working on behalf of the county council, was tasked with re-marking the road on Tuesday night, at no extra cost to the council.
