CRIMEfighters were presented with gongs in recognition of their hard work at an awards ceremony.

Police officers, staff and volunteers from Herts Constabulary were praised at County Hall in Hertford on Thursday.

Among those picked out from the crowd for recognition was 58-year-old Stan Waszkiewicz from Abbots Langley, who was nominated for Police Staff Member of the Year.

Team of the Year was presented to the Change Management Team of Welwyn Garden City, whose members include Diana Currie of Hemel Hempstead.

Police Authority chairman David Lloyd said: “It is important that we take every opportunity to show our appreciation of the excellent contribution of police officers, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to keep Hertfordshire a safe place.”

The presentations were made by the chief executive of the Police Authority Andrew White.
