If you want a wartime show to really rekindle the spirit of the Blitz, you obviously don’t want punters to be going home in the blackout.
That’s one reason why the popular touring We’ll Meet Again show, which will be booking in at the Alban Arena on Tuesday afternoon, kicks off at 2.30pm.
Producer Duggie Chapman has been on the road for 15 years with this selection of period hits, mixing and matching the line-up to keep it fresh for return visitors. .
On the bill in the latest incarnation of the show are comedian Adam Daye summoning up the style of the radio stars of the period, singer Marilyn Hill Smith showcasing the songs of Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and the music of Ivor Novello, Tony Leyton harking back to the hits of Bing Crosby and Donald Peers and ukelele ace Andy Eastwood who will be playing George Formby favourites as well as classical pieces never before heard on a ukulele.
Tickets for the Tuesday, May 7, show are £12.50 (concessions £11) and you don’t need to queue with a ration book in hand – call 01727 844488 or book online at www.alban-arena.co.uk
