A Special Charity Fiddle Concert is being held on Sunday 17th June at 7.30pm at Victoria Hall, Tring, in aid of The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamstead,

A CHARITY fiddle concert is being coming to Tring’s Victoria Hall later this month to support the work of the Northchurch-based Hospice of St Francis.

The range of instruments played by The Oxford Fiddle Group include double bass, Celtic harp, guitar, mandolin, viola, cello, concertina, along with side singers, tap dancing and plenty of humour.

They will perform a variety of tunes and songs from their repertoire, with material from England, Scotland, Ireland and USA.

The group was formed 14 years ago and in recent years have performed in Germany, France, Holland and Portugal.

They will be joined by Clare Lonsdale, who will start proceedings with her skills on the piano.

The hospice provides palliative care to patients with terminal illnesses, including cancer, heart, lung, kidney and neurological diseases and other life-limiting illnesses.

Hospice ambassador Chris Burrows will say a few words about the hospice, to what is expected to be a large audience.

The concert is on Sunday, June 17 from 7.30pm. Tickets are available for £10 (£12 on the door) from David Lonsdale on 01296 631791 or by emailing lonsdales@hotmail.co.uk
