Sausage roll-selling glory for young business girls
MCHG 12-868 Charlotte Toleman, left, and Emmie Palmer, both aged 10, selling sausage rolls at the Rising Sun, Berkhamsted.
Meet two of Berkhamsted’s youngest entrepreneurs.
Charlotte Toleman and Emmie Palmer, both 10, have begun a sausage roll-selling firm for Bridgewater Middle School’s Harvest Enterprise Scheme.
Rachel Swaffield, head of the school in Bridle Way, Berkhamsted, gave each of its pupils £5 to invest.
She said: “They have all had to submit a business plan before getting their £5 and most have chosen to work in groups to pool their resources.”
Charlotte and Emmie bought sausage rolls, which they have been flogging to punters of The Rising Sun pub in Berkhamsted.
The scheme ends on Friday, November 9, and all profits will go to the The Wynaud Trust in Kabalamema, Zambia. The charity runs an orphanage and funds degrees for young people.
