editorial image

Villagers in Redbourn have been setting the pace for recycling in the St Albans district.

St Albans City and District Council’s cabinet has agreed to recycle a wider range of plastics, including margarine tubs and food trays following a successful trial in the village .

Similar collection arrangements will be rolled out in stages to the entire district over the coming months.

The council is also planning to introduce indoor food waste caddies and liners to help make it easier for residents to recycle food waste.
