Gym improvements across the borough

Gym facilities that are used by both the public and school pupils have been revamped and will be ready to use on Monday.

The new gym at Longdean School in Rumballs Road, Hemel Hempstead, will feature a timetable of exercise classes including kettlebells, new exercise to music craze Bokwa and bodycombat.

The gym also benefits from the addition of a functional rig, which is a type of body weight training equipment.

The gym will be open to the public from 6pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 10pm on Fridays, 9am to 2pm on Saturdays and 10am to 9pm on Sundays.

It is the latest in improvements across all Sportspace gyms in Dacorum.

The Berkhamsted branch has a body and mind studio for yoga and pilates while Sportspace on St Johns Road in Hemel Hempstead will be refurbished.

After delays prevented work starting in summer, the tender responses are currently being evaluated.

Spokesman Elise Hyslop said: “We are hopeful that the new gym will open in the New Year.”
