A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.

A minibus driver is needed to take elderly and disabled residents from The Retreat on day trips.

The Book Trade Charity provides housing, support and advice to those who have worked in the trade and need help. Over 160 years old, The Retreat in Kings Langley, was built on land donated by the Victorian paper manufacturer John Dickinson.

The trips take place on the second Monday of each month and usually last around five hours.

Minibus experience is preferred and the volunteer should be between 25 and 80 years of age.

If you have a clean driving licence, are good with people and have a sense of humour, this charity would like to hear from you.

> WorldShapers Childrens Centre needs happy and outgoing volunteers to help at its stay and play group.

This Thursday morning group runs from 8.30am until 12.30pm at Grovehill Community Centre.

The stay and play group offers a chance for families to meet other parents and enjoy playing with their children in a new setting.

This role involves helping with all aspects of running the group from setting up toys, making visitors feel welcome, especially new or anxious parents and then tidying up afterwards.

The right volunteer will be a good listener, at least 18 years of age and available for at least six months.

> Volunteer committee members are needed by Cancer Research UK to join a new fundraising group.

Dacorum Friends is a new group which is just getting started with fundraising activities.

The money raised will support the charity’s work to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer more effectively.

If you are a good team player, with energy, enthusiasm and good ideas, this could be the role for you.

Volunteers should be 18 or over and hours are to suit.
