Canalside pub in the running for an award

The Grand Junction Arms in Bulbourne has made the final of a prestigious national awards ceremony for the pub industry.

Licensee Mick Bushnell is a finalist in the best turnaround pub category for the South East region in the Great British Pub Awards.

He was nominated by the pub’s owners Punch Taverns. Its partnership development manager Charlotte Carroll said: “We nominated the Grand Junction Arms in the best turnaround pub category because ever since Mick took on the pub two years ago he has built up the pub’s reputation for its food, service and atmosphere provided by Mick and his well trained team.”

The awards are run by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser and the winner will be announced at a ceremony at The London Hilton next Thursday (September 13).
