Can you lend a helping hand?

AN enthusiastic volunteer is needed to lead a fundraising group.

RNIB, the charity for the blind, wants someone to lead the group, attend regular meetings, encourage team spirit and develop a group of volunteers to share skills, knowledge and experience to organise successful events and activities. The right person would need to dedicate around two to three hours each week and possess good leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.

> Could you design and create benches or seats from scratch using willow and other wood materials?

The Sunnyside Rural Trust provides work experience to adults with learning difficulties but needs more seating for use during breaks and lunchtimes.

Helpers need DIY and design skills in woodwork and an interest in working with and helping others.

> A volunteer trustee secretary is needed to help out at Dacorum Communities for Learning.

The helper will answer correspondence and communicate with other organisations such as the Charity Commission.

The group, which helps disadvantaged people get to grips with the internet and discover new learning opportunities, meets every six weeks on Friday mornings.

Most courses run by the good cause are free of charge and held at local community centres.

To find out more about any of these opportunities contact the Dacorum Volunteer Centre on 01442 247209 or visit www.volunteerdacorum.org
