Hundreds of women will be dusting off their trainers and limbering up for a women-only midnight walk.
This year The Hospice of St Francis' fourth Walk with the Stars will be held on Saturday, June 19.

Over the years 3,000 women have taken part and raised around £500,000 for the Berkhamsted charity which pays for care and support of seriously and terminally ill people in the community.

This year organisers want 1,500 women to take to the streets for a five or 11 mile route from Hemel Hempstead School to Berkhamsted Sportspace and back again.

Organiser Fran Martin said: "It's a wonderful way to get fit, to make friends or to remember a loved one. It costs just £15 to register and with that you'll receive a fabulous 2010 pink t-shirt and a fluorescent wristband- and we'll make sure you have a well-deserved cuppa with your delicious breakfast at the finish line.

"Girls, we know you're amazing- so join us for another amazing night this year. Every step you take will make a real difference."

Mrs Martin added that organisers have a few surprises up their sleeves for the event which will be announced in the coming months.

The hospice is still looking for Dacorum businesses to sponsor the event to ensure all the money raised goes directly to patient care, rather than organisational costs.

Certan Duggan, general manager, of the newly revamped Red Lion, Water End said: "We're delighted to be working with the hospice in support of this event to help make a night to remember. We'll also be giving all the walkers a little thank you of our own for taking part too so we urge you to join up now!"

Champneys health resort in Tring has donated a voucher worth £2,000 for two people to stay in a suite and two hours of free treatments each. Every walker will also receive discounted relax day voucher.

To enter the walk fill in the coupon on this page and return it to the hospice.

The hospice also wants men to marshall on the night. To get involved or for more information call Fran Martin on 01442 869555 or visit www.walkwiththestars.org.uk
