Commuters have been left stranded in Hemel Hempstead following train cancellations.

Trains to and from Euston to Tring have been stopped following overhead line problems between Watford to Hemel Hempstead.

Passengers should expect delays for up to an hour and the 18:09 and 18:40 from Euston to Tring have been cancelled.

Network Rail engineers are currently working to solve the problem and an update will be given as soon as more information is known.

In the meantime valid London Midland and Virgin tickets are being accepted on both operators' trains in a reciprocal agreement.

The usual timetable services to and from Tring have been cancelled until further notice.

London Midland is aiming to strengthen its peak-time services from Euston by running three further 12-carriage trains.
