Kate O'Sullivan at times has felt depressed, like an idiot and as though she cannot cope.

In this video the former teacher tells The Gazette about her life caring for her cousin, cancer sufferer Dr Malcolm Newcomb.

To mark national Carers Week, The Gazette has lifted the lid on the lives patients and their loved ones who care for them.

Everyday this week video interviews will be loaded up on this site.

Over the next few footage of Berkhamsted's former RAF fighter pilot John Carter, who cannot leave the house and has suffered from lung cancer, and his wife Jacqueline, will be loaded.
